4 Whimbrel were feeding on Crook Moor this evening at 18:00 hrs by the wind farm test mast. I watched them for about 15 minutes before they were flushed by two walkers and flew off to the east, trilling. My highest ever count of this species in the Rochdale area.
A pair of Mistle Thrushes on the grass outside the Scottish Widows building on Portland St. and a pair of Blue Tits by the war memorial on St Peters Square.
Should provide a tastey snack for the Peregrines if they get fed up of Pigeons.
