Wigan Bittern

Fantastic news. Well done to all those involved in the conservation of the area. What a breeding bird to have on your doorstep, hope it finds a female and that this year isn't a one off.

There was a photo of a Bittern on Channel M news and a brief statement that it was a male bird taken up residence and "they" hoped a female would drop in ?

Not sure who "they" are though.

There is an article about the Bittern that`s been seen and heard lately at Wigan Flashes on John Dempsey`s excellent web-site. Go to - birdblog.merseyblogs.co.uk

I guess the secret is well and truly out now ! hmm.gif
