I was night fishing on Higher Hall Flash at Bickershaw on Friday night when I heard a Cuckoo. It was about 4 in the morning. It started calling somewhere behind us on the north side of the lake and then later moved over to the south side. It was there a few hours.

Flogged the local patch today after walking round Elton had a walk round Ringley again nothing much doing a lot of duck have cleared out since friday with no Teal and Tufted duck numbers halving. 11 Goosander flew south, 10 Swallow, 17 Gadwall and an increase in Blackcap were of note.
