We have just received details of one of the Peregrine chicks from last year from the city centre, which was found dead (leg only) at Dovestones in late September. It was a female.

Counted 27 common tern on flash but was quite difficult as they took turns in flight mode.
6 greylags, 8 tufties, 2 ringed plover,5 dunlin,4 chiffchaff,1 bullfinch,3 sedgewarbler,1 linnet,1 little grebe,6 great crested grebe,1 shoveller, 1 r---y,1 whitethrote and 2 reed bunting.
Called at Martin Mere pretty quiet birdwise but great to see avocet,ring plover and shelduck all with chicks.Only two raptors on view ,a very distant buzzard on a fence post enjoying an afternoon meal and a hovering kestrel in front of Ron Baker hide.
