any budding grebe photographers are too late now only 2 bn grebe today-be late june now before the none breeders from woolston start returningcry.gif

Thanks for the info. I would guess most if not all of the HGF birds will be heading for Woolston. There will be a second wave of birds at HGF in June/July from Woolston - it will be interesting to see how many turn up then.

I will definitely be visting the Eyes this summer.

Tthere were 32 Black Necked Grebes reported at Woolston last weekend, if they all go from Houghton Green to the Eyes I think it would mean record Numbers.

11 BNG's present yesterday evening - soon have more than Woolsten at this rate!

Eight BNG's this morning.

Plenty of Grey and Red-legged Partridge plus Stock Dove and Lapwing in the fields opposite.

Common Sandpiper present last night.

Linnets regular and Corn Buntings occasionally on the telephone wires.

smilebest time of year to photograph b.n.grebe at houghton green,best to go at night or early morning as its become dogwalker paradise,best to settle down on the west bank and wait,don't chase em or they will head for the middle.just be patiant and you will get good shots,but remember you only have about 2 weeks before they leave the pool,for woolston,see my avatar for type of shots you can get.smilekeep out of the way of the owner if hes fishing he isn't very keen on birderscry
