A White Stork was seen on the roof of the cricket pavillion on Ford Lane in Didsbury this morning at SJ839900. The bird was not checked for rings and it's origins are currently unknown but checks are underway.

It would appear that a member of the public has been attacked whilst out jogging this week by 2 husky type dogs smewhere on Rindle road. It has been reported to the police but i don't know where the dogs were from. Could any members visiting the area bear this in mind.

Excellent hunting display from the barn owl Thursday evening 05/03, two kestrels and a buzzard also spotted from the same spot, so plenty of raptor activity within the area.

Midday - Just seen 30+ waxwings in a large poplar on moston vale, off Church Lane Moston. Also 1 fieldfare and small redwing flocks. I meadow pipit flushed.
The waxwing were very vocal and all flew west towards Moston itself at 12.30pm

Had a day in Lancashire (ex Oldham RSPB Group). Got Ross' Gull at Lytham north of Fairhaven lake. Several hundred Grey Plover. Wood Sandpiper, Black Tailed Godwit,Ruff and LRP at Mythop Flash, Ross' Goose at Pilling and 3 Scaup, 17 BT Godwit and LRP at Condor Green.
