WALKING ALONG THE CANAL AT APPLEY BRIDGE THIS MORNING I SAW SAND MARTINS FLYING INTO PIPES IN THE WALL ABOUT 200 YARDS DOWN FROM THE SWINGBRIDGE IN THE DIRECTION OF GATHURST.
A Red Kite was seen independently twice today over Aspull late morning by Andy Isherwood initially and then seen over Westhaughton/Aspull still circling by Andy Makin just after this though viewed from Georges Lane, Horwich.

Went and had a quick walk this morning as my little lad was asleep and the wife was busy.
I live 2 minutes from the woods/fields and used to play on there all the time when I was a kid. If I go out, it's usually to Pennington or Clifton Country park. But going to make this a new and regular patch.
