In just a week or so we are running an event to fill the gap left by the demise of the Rutland BirdFair. Focalpoint has it's inaugural Optics Venue in the Village event at the village hall in our closest village of Comberbach, just a minute down Gibb Hill from our shop.

Several of our suppliers will be there including best selling brands Swarovski and Opticron to answer any questions and advise on optics. Other suppliers present will include Zeiss, Kowa, Viking, Celestron and Hawke. They will be bringing their full range of birding optics for you to try too. If you haven't already looked through the stunning new Swarovski NL Pures then this is your chance. I'm on the waiting list for a pair but any customers who fancy them will leapfrog me on the list, customers always come first with us!! There will be free refreshments, demonstrations of both birding and astro equipment, even the chance to buy there and then if you wish. Everything will be COVID compliant for customers and staff safety. To that end we are asking people to pre-book so that it never gets too crowded and uncomfortable for eveyone. The event is at Comberbach Village Hall, on the left as you travel down Gibb Hill, past the Spinner & Bergamot Pub towards Marbury Country Park. It is on Sunday SEPT 5th, opening at 10am and finishing at 4pm (so our suppliers can get home!!).
