After twitching the Beatles at East Leake, I headed back towards London and stopped at friends in Wellingborough. As I'm unable to drive at the moment, I was unable to use the opportunity to twitching the Caspian Ternhill seen at Summer Leye and other spots and also missed out on a Honey Buzzard at Sywell.
Whole enjoynew the sunshine in my friends garden, I was able to enjoy - 1 flyover Little Egreturn - 1 very low flying male Sparrowhawk that rushed through the garden - Several low flying Red Kites - plenty of Swift and HouseMartin overhead

Lovely walk round the forest tracks on a gorgeous, sunny day. Lots of families out on their bikes and with dogs, but thankfully still lots of birds about. Several birds of prey visible as soon as we got out the car - 4 Buzzards and a single Red Kite high up.
The wooded tracks produced: 3 Willow Warblers 2 male Blackcaps 5 Chiffchaffs A variety of common tits and finches, inlduing a single Siskin. 2 calling Cuckoos (heard)
There is a single hide at the reserve, overlooking a pond and some scrub in a clearing. Although it seemed very quiet at first, a half-hour vigil turned up: 2 more Red Kite soaring 2 Ravens A pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers Among the various tits coming and going at the feeding station we had great views of a single Marsh Tit 1 Jay
With all target birds for the day in the bag, there was the added bonus of a Hobby hunting over the fields by the visitor centre
