3 Great Crested Grebes
3 Cormorants
11 Grey Herons
8 Canada Geese
A few Mallards, Moorhens, & Coots
1 Oystercatcher (still high water levels here so nowhere to land)
6 Black-headed Gulls
3 Common Terns
Grey Wagtails at the overflow perched by the Terns
The suspected Arctic Tern has been found to be a Common Tern with an orange bill, but without the black tip
2 Great Crested Grebes
7 Grey Herons
48 Canada Geese
17 Mallards
3 Moorhens
Numerous Coots, adults & juveniles mostly hidden in Amphibious Bistort
1 Curlew flying over
6 Black-headed Gulls
1 Lesser black-backed Gull
2 Common Terns. A friend checked a ringed bird a couple of days ago and found it to be from Doffcocker.
A possible Arctic Tern had been seen earlier & yesterday, all red bill. One of the Jumbles birds I saw a few days ago seemed to have long streamers, but I could not confirm this bird either, not seeing it long enough or close enough to be sure.
1 Swallow
2 Pied Wagtails
This morning at 6am there was a Mediterranean Gull with about 30 BHG's feeding on a recently cut field along side School Lane, above the Wayoh Reservoir. In fine summer plumage. I took some good comparison photos of this too. I will keep a look out for it again over the weekend.

The 16 Common Scoters were still well settled at 12.30pm. Thanks to John for the text this morning. Another call when I was making toast. At least I did not have to rush breakfast as I did with the Greenish Warbler alert.

10.30am to 12.20pm. Fairly sheltered from the wind and drizzle so I spent more time here than going onto the moors. The Arctic Terns have finally moved on.
2 Great Crested Grebes 1 Cormorant 3 Grey Herons 9 Canada Geese 2 Teal 14 Mallards 8 Tufted Ducks 2 Moorhens 9 Coots 4 Black-headed Gulls 2 Arctic Terns still here (6 days now). At times today in the cold wind and with the hailstones it felt like I was in the Arctic. Maybe they think they are there already ! 20+ Swallows

Present throughout giving distants views only until I crossed the embankment as I was finishing off. All of a sudden one of the birds flew within a few yards, even drawing comments from fisrtly a chap with a youngster, who said "is that an Arctic Tern", and then a woman following behind who said "that's an Arctic Tern isn't it". Binoculars not needed as it was so close, blood-red bill and streamers clearly visible. Her husband was put to rights as he had just told her "It's just another gull ". I got the feeling he won't forget that remark for some time. "I know that is a duck" he shouted as a Mallard flew across, and even though he identified it as a Mallard, it did not get him out of jail ! 10 Woodpigeons 2 Collared Doves 12 Swallows 2 Grey Wagtails 1 Pied Wagtail Numerous Wrens, Dunnocks, & Robins 3 Blackbirds 1 Blackcap 1 Chiffchaff 10 Willow Warblers 2 Goldcrests 8 Long-tailed Tits Numerous Coal Tits, Blue Tits, & Great Tits 5 Nuthatches 1 Jay 1 Magpie 5 Carrion Crows 4 Starlings 6 House Sparrows 7 Chaffinches 7 Greenfinches 12 Goldfinches 20+ Siskins 2 Lesser Redpolls 2 Bullfinches

9.20am to noon. I was going to check the moors but stayed around the reservoir as open spaces seemed birdless in the biting wind.
