A male Pied Flycatcher was most unusual. It was in the woods behind the reservoir dam and was mainly in the tops of the trees, but it did come lower down in the bushes from time to time. This was at around 10am, I did search for it again about an hour later, but there was no sign, but it could still be around. There was also 8 Blackcaps around the site, 3 of them in the same tree in the allotments north of the reservoir.
Of note... 2 Shoveler 6 Tufted Duck only, that I could see anyway 1 Great Crested Grebe 2 Common Gull 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull Lots of juvenile large Gulls 2 Goldcrest
Also a huge number of birds on the reservoir including... Black-headed Gulls Mute Swan Canada Goose Coot Moorhen Mallard Gadwall
Also of note 1 Jay Goldfinch Greenfinch Plus usual garden birds around the feeders 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls on Tern raft Lots of Black-headed Gulls Plenty of Tufted Duck Lots of Gadwall too 5 Cormorant (some in breeding plumage) and 1 Great Crested Grebe
