28th October.

4 drake Pochard here this morning, plus a flock of c40 Redwing.

There were 13 Gadwall and c55 Tufted Duck here last Sunday (21/10). Numbers of both these species appeared to be down somewhat today, with the Tufted Duck count only around half of that noted last week. It was also nice to meet and to have a good natter with Tony Hill at Blackleach last Sunday morning.

Cheers,

Bill.

There was a birder called Bill,
Of atlasing he'd had his fill,
He fancied a lark
So went down to the park,
But the lark had flown up to the hill!

12th February am.

Keep looking out for the Water Rail
But efforts to date are to no avail
With the recent spell of cold and ice
A sighting today would have been nice
Still four shoveler plus gadwall female and drake
At least put a little bit of icing on the cake

Cheers,

Bill.
