Correction, after reviewing images supplied by the finder, would suggest a mistaken identification, looks like the bird in question was actually a Jay.
Single Waxwing, Audenshaw @15:10 today, location is a Primary school car park,so won't give exact location due to the school does not wish uninvited visitors on School grounds whilst pupils are present.
Pete,
I presume Bohemian and not Cedar? A bizzarre sighting in any case.
Evening Andy, undetermined, no photos were able to be taken, definitely out of place and time of year.

A flock of 40 were up in two tall trees between Fairfax Ave, Didsbury and the flats on Wilmslow Road. Seemed to be feeding on buds and happily settled, but suddenly all took off S.
19.15
Flock of 10 in a tree at junction of Park Road and Windsor Ave in Gatley.
Feeding for 5 minutes then flew north
Heard more birds (presumably the same flock) on Patterdale Road in Northenden about 10 minutes later.

I came out of work on church road, Bolton this afternoon and heard the trill that I instantly recognised. There were about 20 waxwings in the tree opposite my works. I was surprised as I thought they would be on the move back to Scandinavia. Does anyone know the latest date they have been seen in Greater Manchester in previous years?
The last of a large flock by Orrell Water Park in 2013 were seen on 8th May

Again 9 @ 11:10 this am within the grounds of the old Stockport infirmary A6/Railway Road, we've hung Apple's up hopeing to keep them coming back, very flighty at the moment due to gardening work being carried out.
I saw these this morning as I was travelling on the bus. I tried to post but the Stagecoach and later TP bus blocked the site. Has anyone else had this problem? does the filter consider our "birds" to be non feathered?
So many Waxwings in Stockport this winter and spring. Marvellous.
6 Waxwings were within the grounds of the old Stockport infirmary A6/ Railway Road @ 11:12, flushed by a pair of Magpies, flew off towards the town center.
12-15 Waxwings still at Drury Lane, Chadderton at 10.40 today. Perched up in poplars on Byrom St. and making brief forays to the berry bush next to The Gym carpark. There had been no sign of the birds when I passed 20 mins earlier
12:45 Same place at the Gym Car Park on Drury Lane, Oldham...about 12 - 15 flying in every 10-15 mins hanging around for a minute or two then off. You can photograph from no more than 10-12 feet away. Three very thoughtfully decided to spend 10 minutes on the telegraph wires next to the chosen food bush. Sunshine, blue sky, waxwings...

17 Waxwing still present at Byron Street, Hollinwood, Oldham 11:30-11:50 feeding on buds in tall Lombardy Poplars and making flycatching forays. Also making sporadic visits to the gym car park on Drury Lane to feed on Tree Cotoneaster berries.
17 Waxwings still in the Drury Lane, Chadderton area but quite mobile. They were active around the berry bush in car park for the gym.com at around 07.25 then flew off to feed on buds/insects on Lonsdale Road. Returned to the berries after about 10 minutes then flew to a regular resting site behind the repair centre before coming back to the berries for another brief visit then disappeared for over an hour. A tour of the area with Mr. Ausberger failed to find them anywhere but they were back for a couple more visits when we got back. At least one bird is ringed white over blue on it's left leg.Still plenty of berries on the bush when we left. Nice to chat to Charlie Garrity between their visits.
Only counted 6 on the apple tree at 1130 but they had gone 10 minutes later. After our exciting shopping experience inside the Mall, there were none about at 1230.

Got a call from Riggers and joined him about 8 a.m. The birds stayed on the east side of Manchester Road until 9 a.m. feeding from time to time on buds/insects in the tops of tall trees around the area before being lost to view as I was moving between vantage points. They didn't head back to their favoured trees behind the Impact community church on Byrom Street but couldn't be relocated anywhere towards Limeside.

Seven waxwings were on the apple tree next to the entrance to Stretford Mall about 10:15. One of the taxi drivers asked what they were, he reckoned they've been around a few days.
Thanks to Fiona for the tip-off. I'd given up on them for this Winter and then they turn up on the doorstep. Typical waxwing behaviour!
Thanks Steve. The Stretford 6 still there around 12.30pm. At the end of Pinnington Lane. In a higher tree and then feeding in the evergreen berry bush which is dripping. Can't be a popular berry or they wouldn't still be there I guess.
Flock of around 25 waxwings feeding on red apples in a tree almost immediately outside the doors of Stretford Mall on Kingsway? that becomes Edge Lane after the lights. Plenty of apples there so a good chance they will be back again tomorrow. Were flying to trees on the opposite side of the road to the Arndale, but generally un-phased by shoppers and heavy traffic.
the 3 waxwings were still in my old Trafford garden until 8.30am, I placed some more apples out whilst they sat in the tall tree as I only had a few barely there ones left & they just sat preening. they came back at 8.40am for a few minutes had a quick feed again then went, not seen since. a couple of through the window shots & one whilst I put more apples out.
