Happy to report that after last years low numbers the area is buzzing this morning with birds checking out the houses ready for nest building duties , had 7 this morning before work .

A Buzzard flew low across Princess Parkway this afternoon.It was lucky not to get hit by a car!It landed on a small patch of rough ground adjacent to the Bridge at the side of the of the road,[I think it was the Northern Moor slip road]. 9.30 am kingfishers showing well along river irwell,plenty of whitethroats,chiffchaffs,swifts,sand martins,swallows,also blackcap,lapwing,heron,jay,pied wag,tufted ducks,buzzard over 13 arches and pair of great crested grebes on lake.

im having a small problem identifying these two by their song. the whitethroat is ok because i see them and so i hear them however the lesser i find very elusive but i think i sometimes hear them. does anyone else have this id problem with the lesser, regards to all, mike

While waiting for a bus at Wythenshawe bus station I noticed a large ammount of the Pigeons have injuries to their legs or feet,some very severe.
Does anyone Know why this is and can it be prevented ?.

Saw a Tawny Owl tonight from the car on the way home from my Grandparents at 9.00pm.
It was sat in a tree as we passed in the car and my Dad stopped.
