Main highlight was three Cattle Egrets seen fly (fairly low) south at 07:32. It is almost certain the birds had come up off the spit but I had gone straight up to the ruck for first light and caught them heading out across the flash and south over the trees. Their height was relatively low and a latter check of the only cattle field on the south side of the flash, near Liptrots Farm, itself just south of Sorrow Cow Farm, only confirmed that it could not be seen from any angle other than a small section from the top of the ruck itself! No further sign regardless.

The Black Tern still present in Rammys ,constantly being mobbed by an Herring Gull !!. The Common Tern still present by the sailing club and 3 Great White Egrets fishing at the western end A Cettis Warbler in sub song in waterside bushes by the HGV yard.
Black tern and common terns still present to at least 13:30. Drake common scoter still this morning, also 4 wigeon dropped into east bay at about 8:30.
The disturbance early morning was down to an angler in a boat with an engine putting bait down near the spit.

3 Great White Egrets, all around the spit/mini spit at one stage and which included the long staying red-ringed bird

Leach's Petrel showed well for me for about an half hour or so, up to 12.23 pm . record shot attached
Initially seen earlier than me by Gordon Newman great find , then after a text letting me know there was likely a petrel on I mooched back to Horrocks hide as I had been counting birds in the north bank pools and picked the Leach's up being chased around the east bay by gulls .

Probably 2 Hobby, with what looked like a juvenile over the western end at 15:04 which quickly moved to over the ruck and put on a good show until around 15:17 soaring and occasionally rapidly stooping down low, presumably to catch dragonflies. Then at 15:35, an adult flashed east, quite low, across Ramsdales.
8+ Swallows south in ones and twos
22 Chiffchaffs across the ruck and the nature reserve area
Common tern 1 (see photos). It's a heavily moulting bird which I assume is an adult since it's got a black cap, but I wonder if the very dark primaries and especially the dark bar on the secondaries point towards 1st summer?
Wigeon 1
Redshank 1
Little egret 1

Sightings from this morning included a first winter male Stonechat at the west end, 49+ Meadow pipit south, 2 Siskin south, Raven south at 8.29. Yellowhammer south at 8.40, 2 Greylag geese at the west end
Also this morning, juvenile ringed plover at the sailing club.
Late afternoon, 2 snipe flushed from the spit by people strimming the vegetation and a juvenile peregrine over.
Attached are some photos of the goosander this morning as they left. Looking at the face markings in the brightened image I would say probably 2 females and 13 juveniles.

For the sake of accuracy, it appears that the little gull that I saw early morning was actually a juvenile, or at least it still had some juvenile plumage with black markings on the hind neck.
2 x 1st W Little Gull under boat clubs that came in and went seemingly within about 10 mins , could have been different birds to Colins as there were none present between 9am and 11 am
Great White Egret -1
Little Egret -2
Kingfisher-2
1 House Martin, 6 Sand Martin and a steady stream of Swallows south
