Black tern still present but no sign of the five mystery waders. They looked like curlew sandpipers to me but the rain was so hard it was almost like fog and it was dull so I'll never know for sure.
Five small waders just dropped in then flew again. Not sure if they've gone or landed out of view. Pretty horrific conditions here at the moment. They looked pale for dunlin and appeared to have white rumps....
Adult Hobby again over the ruck this morning c.7.40, did a couple of stoops behind the point trees before heading off strongly south. Single Tree Pipit flew south over the ruck c.9.05 just before a light shower. Lesser Whitethroat in with a mixed flock in the western reedbed. Ruff still on the spit, 9 Wigeon flew in c.8.30 landing twice briefly before heading off high north. At least 74 Gadwall and c.300 mixed Hirundines low over the water.
Still one Green Sandpiper from Ramsdale hide, and the juv Ruff from Horrocks hide. A Cettis Warbler calling by Horrocks hide,33 Great Crested Grebe together in Ramsdale Flash and a single drake Pochard there as well.

19 Swifts
1 Meadow Pipit on the ruck
3 Tree Pipits, with two flushed from grass by a dog at 07:50 not 50 yards from where I'd been stood for over 30 minutes! They circled low over me calling and landed briefly in trees before flying off east. Then at 08:10 another was heard fairly low over the central part of the ruck and sounded like it was either coming up off or dropping in but wasn't seen.
1 Yellow Wagtail high south over the ruck at 06:55
7 Willow Warblers around the ruck
39 Chiffchaffs around the ruck, including 27 in a single very active flock on the top of the ruck, counted as they flew across a large gap and into the trees next to me, the flock also containing a few Blue and Long-tailed Tits
A small Canada Goose in the middle of the flash on its own & not associating with any other Canada possibly a 'Cackling'. ''Branta hutchinsii''. Roughly the same size as a Lesser black backed Gull that was nearby. It sat lower in the water reminiscent of a Grebe, neck appeared shorter bodied with forehead steeper & a smaller bill. Poor photos attached.
Also of note: 1 Juvenile Ruff on end of spit but elusive. 2 Green Sandpiper in Ramsdale's. 2 Juvenile Grey Wagtail on the spit. At least 18 Swift with hundreds of other mixed Hirundines. 1 Sparrowhawk & 2 Buzzard.
No sign of the ruff for me, though I didn't view from the ruck so could only see one side of the spit.

Pochard 1 off the car park
Yesterday I reported a Polish ringed black-headed gull off the car park at 5.30pm, this morning at 9am I had my reply. Also today, the white ringed Norwegian black-headed gull J3260 was again off the car park.

Then at 07:42 an adult flew leisurely fairly low SSE over the ruck and off into the distance. The later bird could conceivably have been the unaged bird from the two together a little earlier.
160+ Swallows feeding
24 Swifts
12 Chiffchaffs and 4 Willow Warblers around the ruck
Presumably the same individual I heard calling several times, around the same time, while I was in cover at Bickershaw C.P. but I couldn't confirm it's SW flight path at the time.
Birds seen this morning included, immature Peregrine circling to the north of the site, Green Sandpiper, Water rail and Little egret from Ramsdales
