Black tern still present but no sign of the five mystery waders. They looked like curlew sandpipers to me but the rain was so hard it was almost like fog and it was dull so I'll never know for sure.

Also this morning, juvenile Shelduck.

Five small waders just dropped in then flew again. Not sure if they've gone or landed out of view. Pretty horrific conditions here at the moment.  They looked pale for dunlin and appeared to have white rumps....

First thing this morning:

87 Tufted Duck

Great White Egret again at the western end, then flew to the south side and eventually at 07:10 flew off west

Juvenile Ruff still on the spit

Single Snipe on the tip of the spit

19 Swifts

1 Meadow Pipit on the ruck

3 Tree Pipits, with two flushed from grass by a dog at 07:50 not 50 yards from where I'd been stood for over 30 minutes! They circled low over me calling and landed briefly in trees before flying off east. Then at 08:10 another was heard fairly low over the central part of the ruck and sounded like it was either coming up off or dropping in but wasn't seen.

1 Yellow Wagtail high south over the ruck at 06:55

7 Willow Warblers around the ruck

39 Chiffchaffs around the ruck, including 27 in a single very active flock on the top of the ruck, counted as they flew across a large gap and into the trees next to me, the flock also containing a few Blue and Long-tailed Tits

15.15 - 18.45

A small Canada Goose in the middle of the flash on its own & not associating with any other Canada possibly a 'Cackling'. ''Branta hutchinsii''.
Roughly the same size as a Lesser black backed Gull that was nearby. It sat lower in the water reminiscent of a Grebe, neck appeared shorter bodied with forehead steeper & a smaller bill. Poor photos attached.

Also of note:
1 Juvenile Ruff on end of spit but elusive.
2 Green Sandpiper in Ramsdale's.
2 Juvenile Grey Wagtail on the spit.
At least 18 Swift with hundreds of other mixed Hirundines.
1 Sparrowhawk & 2 Buzzard.

Also today, the white ringed Norwegian black-headed gull J3260 was again off the car park.
