As we were in the area decided to call in and have a look. 2 Spoonbills feeding out on a gulley cutting through the beach at low water was a good start. On the reserve itself really good numbers of breeding terns, mainly Sandwich but also Common,Arctic and Little Tern in reasonable numbers many with large young. Plenty of breeding Black Headed Gulls with lots of virtually fledged young was really good to see after the previous years of bird flu ravaging them. Also breeding on the reserve Eider and Red Breasted Mergansers. All in all worth the the diversion we made,as it's a bit off the beaten track.
