Dry weather affecting birds advice wanted

I'd be extremely cautious that this might be Avian Influenza rather than simply dehydration, or both

I certainly wouldn't handle a sick bird at this time - use anti-bac gel if you have, and don't keep it in the house

The are numerous reports of affected birds, mostly seabirds, having Avian Influenza - but scavengers can easily get infected too

Two days ago i found a juvenile jackdaw , in the garden , very weak , very thin. I have managed to feed and water him and he seems to be recovering , pottering around picking up insects .
This morning i discovered a carrion crow in similar circumstances , asleep .I cannot get him to feed .
Any ideas , please .
