RE: Hough Hill and surroundings, Tameside

Best find was a single Little Grebe on the more 'ornamental' of Dukinfield golf course ponds behind the Rising Moon pub. Also 2 Greylag Goose over was a new lockdown walking list tick. 79 species now.

In addition 9 Linnet near Hough Hill summit, Kestrel caught prey near ponds, 3 Moorhen, 2 Coot, 2 Swallow, Sparrowhawk, 2 Pied Wagtail, Herring Gull, Blackcap, Willow Warbler and a distant Lapwing towards Harrop Edge.

12 Linnet around the farm at 18.30 in a very chilly Easterly wind. 3 Pied Wagtail also.

Swallow was around the pond on the golf course.

No sign of any distant White Tailed Eagle.

Thought I'd start a separate thread for this area, as it is apart from Gorse Hall and is almost at the point where Hyde, Dukinfield and Stalybridge meet.

At Broadbent Fold Farm there were 25 Linnet feeding around the horse paddocks, with another near the summit of Hough Hill. My hifhest ever count here.

Best bird was a female Wheatear in the horse field to the West of the hill. Only field with exposed soil from the hooves. 18.45.

2 Pied Wagtail were around the farm

3 Moorhen on the ponds in the 'new' part of Dukinfield Golf Course by Early Bank Road. Kestrel hunting around the edges.

No sign of the 2 Swallow by Potthouse Farm.
