10-11 this morning. 2 Common Snipe on golf course pool with Little Grebe and Coot. 7 Chiffchaff on the wander too.

Just around the Western part of Hough Hill this morning. Highlights were 6 Linnet and 15+ Swallow. Good number of House Sparrows around the stables too.

Juvenile Little Grebe on the golf course pond was the best sighting yesterday evening. Also 6+ Swallow, 3 Chiffchaff, 2 Coot.

1 Wheatear - towards the top of Hough hill

Some new birds compared to last few walks

Chiffchaff around golf course ponds, with Male Reed Bunting, 2 Bullfinch and Greenfinch. 

Little Grebe, Coot(unusual here), 5 Moorhen on pond

8 Linnet on the muddy horse field

Little Grebe back on the golf course pond. Male Tawny Owl calling. Also 7 Moorhen, 50 Canada Geese, 6 Mallard, 120 Jackdaw over, 5 Song Thrush.

Snipe species around golf course ponds. Flushed by a dog, rose about 1.5M up, then straight back into the rushy area it came from. Didn't get the binoculars onto it, but by behaviour a possible Jack Snipe. 

Also 3 Moorhen, 2 Redwing, 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Bullfinch and a Cormorant over.

Little Grebe pair with 2 young, Kestrel, 40 Swallow, 10 Swift, 3 House Martin, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Greenfinch, Bullfinch, 7 Pied Wagtail, 2 distant Common Buzzard, 500+ Jackdaw over, 100+ Black Headed Gull in recently harvested field opposite Rising Moon pub with 30 Lesser Black Backed Gull, Chiffchaff, Pheasant.

Little Grebe pair have had a second brood, with 3 very young chicks swimming near the reeds. Older chick being hassled by parent.

Also 7 Swallow, 3 Chiffchaff, Blackcap, 2 Swift, 3 Moorhen with chick.

Little Grebe pair have at least 1 chick on Dukinfield Golf Couse pond. Newer part of the couse near Early Bank Road.
