Looking for good local patches

There are dippers on the Irk in Blackley Forest and the valley that separates Crumpsall and Blackley off Blackley New Road. I've also seen goldcrest there.

There are kingfishers too apparently but I've not seen one yet.

James I think we are all looking for good patches, Heaton Park is an excellent place to bird, but if you live over that way, I have always though Boggarrt hole clough has been neglected from a birding point of view, but this been Manchester anything can pop up, so stay local and just pray to the birding gods as we all do, that something good will turn up.

Keep Birding.

Hi All,

I'm new to the page and haven't really done any real birding in 20 yrs, I used to be a volunteer warden and long term warden on Skomer. I do some local stuff now around Heaton Park in Blackley where I live and other obvious places but I have forgotten all the hidden gem places I used to frequent. Any chance you all could give me some pointers.

Thanks

James
