RE: Coming Soon - NEW Swarovski Binocular Scope!

Just so no-one pops out to have a look at this and wastes a journey, sorry this last one has gone. We hope to have another in, but as I said they are so much in demand that I am not sure when that will be, sorry if you wanted to see it but missed it no

We have just one BTX module left in stock and they are like hens teeth at the moment!! It is available with the 95, 85 or 65 mm objective ends, all are currently in stock. If you are going to the BirdFair to test this out then bring your ticket back & we will refund the days admission fee off the discounted price of the BTX scope.

This offer also applies to any equipment that you test at the BirdFair, come and support your local dealer by buying off us and we will refund your day ticket price off your optics purchase. It pays to buy local as then all your follow up service from us will be free of charge, a service charge is often applied if we have to deal with equipment purchased elsewhere. Also remember we sponsor these Forums, so a purchase from us will keep this going too. Thanks to All smile

The NEW Swarovski BTX eyepiece module has just arrived today!! We have just sold out of 95mm Objective ends and 85mm Objectives are also out of stock, so at the moment it can be tested with our 65mm one here in stock. On days that I am in though I will have my 95 available & we can test it with that one. So a call to 01925 730399 is recommended if you want to come and play. We are still awaiting arrival of the extender to allow for higher mag to be achieved. Watch this space.

I have now tested this scope and although I won't eat my words, I will say that I was more impressed than I thought that I would be! The optical quality is superb as you would expect from the top end Swarovski range and the binocular eyepiece end does add something to the viewing experience. The image is sharp, bright and incredibly 3D - maybe that's obvious - but more 3D than I had expected! When the 1.7x extended is added, yes the image size is noticeably bigger but the loss of light dulls down the image just enough to make me prefer the kit without the extender and to be happy with the fixed magnification available without the extender.

We are hopeful that we will have one in stock very soon, they are in short supply and we have only got one allocated, so when that is sold there won't be another until next year, we have been told!! So I'll announce on here when it come in and then get your skates on & pop out to have a peek biggrin

A bit more info on this scope:

It will cost £2070 for the eyepiece end only to add on to your existing objective, or the usual cost of these if you need to buy one of these from new. It gives a fixed magnification of 30X when coupled with the 65 and 85 objective ends, 35x with the 95 objective. A 1.7x extender can be fitted between the two scope halves to increase the magnification to 50x for the 65 & 85 and 60x for the 95 objective. There is an interpupillary distance adjustment and a dioptre adjuster, as you would expect with twin eyepieces.

Weights are: BTX 65 2.195kg

                    BTX 85 2.520kg

                    BTX 95 2.760kg

So, not only pockets deep enough to afford this kit but enough to hire a Sherpa to carry it !!    wink

I can't argue with that at all biggrinbiggrin

We are pleased to announce that there will be an In-Store Day especially for this innovative piece of equipment. Our Swarovski Representative will be on hand to answer all questions about it and obviously it will be there for you to try out. We are hopeful that in the week after the event I will have the scope to take around sites in the North West to demonstrate, so if you can't get to the In Store Event maybe you can catch up with me in the field biggrin

Soon to hit our shelves here at Focalpoint Optics will be the newly announce Swarovski BTX Scope system. This is the same optics as the current ATX/STX Scope but with a binocular eyepiece module. So anyone with any Objective end module from the ATX/STX range could add just the BTX Eyepiece module to have a complete binocular scope. Some details are here on the Swarovski Optik UK website :

http://uk.swarovskioptik.com/nature

I will report back further when I have looked through one biggrin
