RE: Dalmatian Pelican

The Pennington 1970 and Sandbach 1974 records could potentially be the first and second records for Britain if this species gets reviewed as a result of the Cornish Dalmatian Pelican

Time for second thoughts, perhaps, regarding the Pennington Flash incident. Quote from "Birds and Birdwatching at Pennington Flash" - J.D.Wilson (1985) : 'This species is not on the British list and the record of one seen soaring high over the flash on 15th August 1970 by F.R.Horrocks and C.Owen is included for curiosity value only. It can hardly have been anything othe than a fugitive from a zoo.'

One on Sandbach Flashes, Cheshire, November 1974 is the only Dalmatian Pelican record in the North of England (as far as I am aware)

This species not (yet) on the official UK list

The Dalmation Pelican in Cornwall has got me thinking, am I mistaken or is there an old record from Pennington Flash? Sure I remember it in an old report, but without digging them out of storage can't be sure.
