It is a sightings thread Charles and they are a sighting like any other bird. Overflying geese in the county can rarely be attributed to a specific location as such so they have their own thread. The importance of the thread in a county context should not be underestimated either as it's very valuable to track their movements with weather conditions and particular dates etc.

Either way, the popularity of the thread would seem to indicate that a lot of observers do see the point of it.

I cant see why there is a Pink Footed Geese sighting thread,thousands are arriving,Does it matter if you see groups of 10,50 or Hundreds or what Direction they are flying in.
Surely its the count at their final destination that counts,to see if there is an increase or decrease of visiting numbers
