Just watching masterchef on bbc the tests they gave for five chefs plus the demo with the Asian lady on how to do it was to prepare a wild woodcock. I know these wild birds get shot for food. But watching the untrained chefs who had never done this before mashing up the birds which no doubt went in the bin was horrible. I understand we eat woodcock and other wild birds I have eaten sea trout I have caught I the wild. But it was uncomfortable to watch wild birds being sacrificed for such a trivial matter yes kill them to eat but eat them and treat them with some respect.
