No worries, John.
Just wish the Govt (or natural england) had seen sense on this issue. Of course the deed was probably done before any of us got to know about it.
For 'Natural' england to licence the destruction of native birds of prey, so the aristocracy can have a pop at some introduced game birds without fear of pheasant numbers being slightly reduced, suggests the body needs a name change.

The fact is that they tried to do this secretly but got found out (good work RSPB - keep it up smile) and these gun-toting toffs will find some other backdoor way around the law furious

This stuff just beggars belief. Natural England appear to be under the thumb of the big landowners and the whole thing just seems be be corrupt. What next? Which species will suffer next?

I really thought this nonsense had gone away! If the reported persecution of buzzards and destruction of nests, and the sell out by natural England is correctly reported, it's now time for the RSPB to really get stuck in with the weight of it's million plus membership and to USE it to put the fear of god into this government and to get rid of Richard B. once and for all; the time for fence sitting and pussyfooting is OVER!

If you ever had any doubts, you now know that this country is run by a bunch of lying, cheating, grouse-shooting, public schoolboys who don't give a damn about wildlife or us "plebs" who enjoy watching their flora and fauna. Won't be long before they repeal our right to roam and point their shotguns at us...

This is the type of outcome which has been anticipated since English Nature was 'reeled in' and became part of Natural England, in order to please certain politicians and lobbyists. Let's hope it's not the tip of the iceberg.

Natural England? What's more natural, a wild, native bird of prey or an alien, albeit established, species which is bred and released in ridiculous numbers?

It took 50 years to get to the place were fine birds like these can be enjoyed by everyone locally withput travelling anywhere.When I was a kid in Leigh I never expected to see a Buzzard in my life, as I could not afford to travel to Wales or the Lake District. and now because of the privileged few a licence has been granted to destroy such a fabulous species eggs. How can one day in the news we are being told about all British wildlife in decline and how we all need to protect what we have, then Natural England, which I am sure should change thier name give license to destroy what has been protected, what's next Licenses to shoot Ospreys because they take Salmon. I am disgusted and this sort of thing just makes me want to give up, as everything seems to be against birds and wildlife in general, and unfortunately many don't give a damn as long as they are ok-It is a Sad Day :(
