RE: Grasshopper Warbler!?

Oh thanks, Nick - I know where that road is, but I've yet to visit the Rucks. Must remedy that.

Just for the record Paul I've yet to get a Grasshopper Warbler on Highfield Moss. One place I can recommend is down the road to nowhere on Bickershaw Rucks. It's the Tarmac road with a barrier off Smiths Lane near West Leigh.

Thanks Jon - I am in Leigh - no shortage of possible areas: Penny Flash, Highfield and Astley Mosses etc. It'll happen!
And yes. probably time I went up on t'moors again. smile

but what was driving the tractor ? Not sure what part of GM you are in Paul and I'm sure other birders will provide easier sites but surprisingly (or not) the reeds on Horwich Moor nr Holden's Farm is a good spot

In my Birding learning curve thus far, the Grasshopper Warbler is eluding me. Out jogging in the Lilford area this morning, a sound suddenly impinged upon my thoughts: brrrrrrrrrzzzzz..............

That's it, I thought!

Then I saw the tractor in the next field but one.

hmm
