Myself and Henry Cook headed over to Elba Park early this afternoon for the long staying Little Bunting.
Strong winds made birding very difficult on arrival with only a few Meadow Pipits, Skylarks and Swallows braving the conditions whilst other species kept low.
We made our way down to the stream near the plantation where the Little Bunting has been seen recently and had some terrific views as it fed on the muddy bank and bankside vegetation with a couple of male Reed Buntings. It seemed to want to tag along with one of the Reed Buntings in particular and virtually followed it's every move which made for a great size comparison amongst the other features, also nice to hear it calling a few times too as we watched them actively feeding alongside each other.
A lovely bird too see despite the very windy conditions.
