Probably a good thing. Don't think I could have dug the car out of the snow drift and driven to the Wirral this morning!

Thanks for the comment Mike. However, the problem with a city centre conference is that venues tend to be more expensive and then everyone moans about parking costs if they drive. These days conferences tend to do better if they are located nearer to a motorway junction. Folk don't seem to have a problem getting to the Wirral, particularly if there's a high tide at Parkgate!

The idea of a North West regional conference was to have a larger number of people intereted in attending - but that sadly wasn't the case.

Could it be that the location put some people off ?
I suspect (but don't know) that Leahurst is a bit of a task to get to by public transport and unless you're a Wirral birder it's starting to cost a gallon of jungle juice (and more) to drive to the location.
If the meeting had been city centre then it would make it easier for all to attend (although having just had to bus about for a day - flippin' expensive)

I doubt very much whether the conference will be rearranged in the near future, However, I would like to hear from people who would be interested in an event of this type and what sort of content they would like. Judith Smith ran two successful conferences in Greater Manchester some time ago - but that was pre-internet...

Would have attended if it didn't clash with a prepaid birding trip. Will definitely go if rearranged for a date I have free

Honestly, I thought it was cheap!

I recently went on a North-West High Performance Rugby Coaching Conference at the Etihad Stadium 10am-4pm at that was £90! I didn't pay mind, my rugby club did

Steve, when I first heard about this I thought nice day out, but I must admit it was the cost that put me off, now I wonder if any one else will be honest enough to say the same.

Hope it can be rearranged for a different date etc!

Chris, not been to a footie match since it went seating only, gigs are not my thing, as for sausage rolls and sandwiches, nice lunch but still priced out of my budget, so will not be able to afford!

You would think as part of the membership deal that this would be included or even a discount ?

Never mind! like most thing getting very expensive to do anything nowadays.

Hope it goes well for all who attend.

Errrm no. Have you bought a ticket for a footie match or a gig recently? Here there's no booking fee or services charges - and a buffet lunch is included.

This one day conference will take place on Sat. 23rd March at Neston on the Wirral

I shouldn't have had to make this post really as Ian very kindly put the announcement on the Notice Board of the website with links to the conference timetable and booking form.

However, it appears that some people only look at this forum and never at manchesterbirding.com
and then they complain that they have missed something
