Check out a photographers website- Birdmad by a guy called Dean Eades- he has loads of adverts, he may be able to give you some pointers . I am sure as a birder he may be able to help as 700,000 views is a hell of a lot.
I have personally funded this forum since I started it, which is over six years now. I have watched it grow and grow in popularity and cannot quite believe just how well used it has become. Of course I am very glad about this (no one wants a forum no one looks at do they!) but I've somewhat become a victim of my own success . January 2013 saw a new record statistic of over 700,000 views of the forum (I nearly had a heart attack when I received the bill today!) which pushed its monthly cost to frankly more than I can justify or afford paying any more (and it was always pretty unjustifiable anyway).
I certainly don't want to close this forum down of course so I would appreciate anyone with any experience of advertising on websites or how to at least make something back off them to contact me privately as a matter of urgency if possible (not as a reply on this thread please ).
