I'm not aware of Pink-footed Geese ever having roosted out there Eddie, but Canada Geese do and often move around in the dark to get there too though 9pm is quite late for them.
Hello all, It has been a long while since I last wrote to the group, despite being home in Manchester several times, I have not had time to do any birding on the Moss. On my last visit, a week ago, I was taking a breath of fresh air in my son's garden at about 21:00 hrs. My son's house is virtually on the edge of the Moss and a police helicopter had just taken off from Barton Airport and zoomed low over the Moss. A few seconds later, I heard what seemed to be a large flock of Pink-footed Geese in flight. My question is do Pink-feet roost on the Moss?
