I thought I had actually moved it after editing it out of the Pennington sightings thread but obviously not. My fault

Eric's hump (as we used to call it) is still visible even if it's not it's full former glory and as John says, is full of trees. It's basically sti the highest point on the south side of the flash and is complete with path through it and also a small bird table in the past few years!

Erics Mound was flattened as locals didn't want to lose the views from thier houses of Rivington Pike ,and is now covered with a forest ,It was on the south bank above the entrance car park .no plaque was ever built . Shooting at the flash had stopped a decade before Eric became head warden,with a lot of other people involved in that.I never saw much shooting and I was at the flash 6 or 7 years before Eric Arrived.
This thread would probably be better in the general part rather than the bird sighting I would think as it could be a long thread.
