Red Kites are pretty plentiful around that stretch of the M1/M25 - Hemel Hempstead, St Albans in particular. Ravens appear to be moving Eastwards and are even seen in Essex these days. Still not regularly seen in London though, unlike Red Kites.

Total of 4 Red Kites on my way back from London last Sunday. Two quite close in to London just NE of the M1 around Borehamwood area, the others between the M25 and Luton. Wonder how long before they're regularly seen in Inner London again.

My parents live in Harpenden (5 miles north of St Albans) and are now regularly seeing 2 Red Kites circling over their garden

One Red Kite seen very close to Borehamwood on Friday (29/11/13), just about inside the M25.

Also heard Song Thrush singing around 02.30 this morning at Borehamwood
