talking of flamingo's, a photo of one (Greater I think) has been uploaded to Surfbirds "Blast From The Past" gallery today, stated as being taken at Manchester Airport on the 3rd July 2011 ?????

The key it seems in the age Pete; captive bred juvenile appear very rare indeed but discounting escaped imported birds etc is likely to be a nightmare and it's Cat E fate!

Best of luck with that one Ian!!! I`m trying to remember when the ( presumed )adult Lesser Flamingo was in Cheshire ( 90`s??), at Frodsham etc

I was contacted by Killian last night and have discussed the bird with him and potential origins with another Irish birder. Needless to say, I have a long road ahead...
