RE: New layout

Same problem with me, but not a big deal as you can type an emoticon in as follows ;)

Thanks Tanmay, it seems I'm not the only one with this problem. By the way, I do know how to type an emoticon, I just
chose not to to, get my point across!

The double spacing problem seems to have disappeared now. Unfortunately, my emoticon problem has reappeared.
When I click on an emoticon I don't get the character I get the whole code, which takes up a large part of a line, so I
can't use an emoticon within the body of a post.
It's not the end of the world I know, but emoticons can be quite important to get across the tone of a post, and to help
in not offending other forum members ( something I won't be doing, hopefully).

On my laptop and my works computers I get

a double space

each time I press the return or

enter keys- All history

and caches cleared

Although once submitted it corrects itself in the post ,so in reality it make no difference whatsoever and the layout is just fine to me

Though I'll look into it, changes to the forum were purely colour only and there were absolutely no changes to any other forms of code, so I've no idea why that might be happening. The forum isn't (can't be) selective as to who it affects either, so as these issues are only affecting some users and not others then its unlikely to be the forum; in the same way that emotions have worked for some it seems and not others confuse. For most of the forum users I've spoken to they remain unaffected by the changes but obviously there's some coincidence in when this issues have arisen. Have users encountering problems cleared their caches etc?

It highlights well as you move over it, both on my ancient home computer using Windows XP and on touch on my
new Android. phone.
When you are in a lift do you want all the floors to light up at once? Then where are you?

Anyway you can read it unlit and if you can't 2 comes after 1

Gonna stick my neck out and say I preferred the old layout vastly - it was easier to see which threads had no new replies, and we easier on the eye... this an opportunity to say good work Ian, keep the good work on the forum :)

This new colour may have suited the recent weather but I think it should go back to grey - for today at least

Having had the privilege to see some of Ian's recent drawings, I can assure you that he is going through his "Grey Period".

I can't imagine what the website will look like when he gets into Cubism

New layout? All I did was change the colour!

Odd that in the forum's five year existence, changing the colour always stirs so much discussion. Of course, those who've been on here long enough know I do like to change the colour too

personally i am outraged at the lack of complaints about the new layout, where is all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, where is the tearing at the hair and mourning of the old layout while simultaneously decrying the new one. it's not on you're letting forum uses the world accross down in the moaning about changes to forum stakes.

biggrin

personally i care not what colour it is as long as it aint pink, i draw the line at pink.

No there isn't! Other than the fact that Dave used the same company to host his forum as I do (it was me that put him on to them) and so he had the same range of colours as I do

Give it about another five months and it would

Thankfully it will be a nice black and white job and not Luftwaffe grey!

A dull drab grey sky shrouded Winter Hill that hides an excellent little male Snow Bunting at the moment and a dull drab forum which hides more information than any other local birding forum in the UK

Don't judge a book (or indeed forum) by its colour, I mean, cover...

Absolutely agree with you regarding this superbly informative Forum.
Was this in question?
Sorry about my aversion to the new colour. I'll just have to get use to it!
