Roach or Rudd,both are resident in the flashes but very difficult to identify in the water,both are shoal fish,roach are more likely to hug the bottom whilst rudd like to take food off the surface

3rd Nov: Migrant Hawker perched on a tree at Hawkley Reedbed and a pair of Common Darter in tandem

4th Nov: Red Admiral by Moss Bridge; plenty of fish easily viewed in the pool on the brook by Moss Bridge, at the culvert outlet from Turner's to Scotman's, with clear and relatively still water a Pike was visible yesterday, with plenty of Perch, Roach and what are probably Rudd - if anyone can confirm the latter?

Dragonflies: small numbers of Common Darter on the wing today, 8 seen around Bryn Marsh and the south end of Scotman's

Not the most exciting first post,but a nocturnal visit to Horrocks Flash revealed quite a few bats,sp unknown and 2 hedgehogs along the tow path,much to busters amusement.
