RE: Skylarks at Salford Quays

I think you may be relating to Pomona Docks Simon, in which case yes the Skylarks have been here for a while but only just hanging on, 1-2 pairs. This site is threatened with development by Peel Holdings so make the most of them while you can! It's a great spot considering the proximity of the site to the city centers of both Salford and Manchester. For previous reports from here visit the Pomona Docks thread at: http://96752.activeboard.com/t10353734/pomona/

Thanks. Henry.

Was out jogging on the canal from Castlefield to Salford Quays last night when I was staggered to see a skylark singing away. Looks like the waste/derelict ground across from the tramline is perfect habitat. Plus whitethroat + willow warbler singing away in the scrub along the canal. Have the skylarks been there for a long time?
