Just south of Eccleston quite surprised by a Tawny Owl that flew out of some conifers alongside the M6 tonight and landed on the other side of the carriageway!
A fair few Swifts mating on the wing now Gary. I think this can be logged as probable breeding evidence for the BTO national + GM Atlas in that tetrad, although they are so mobile it's hard to be sure they will breed very locally!
had a red kite over my house heading in the direction of mawdesley/croston also witnessed a pair of swifts mating on the wing has anybody witnessed this behaviour before?
