Bit of a long shot here, but does anyone go to/live near the Mersey and be willing to spare a morning a month to do a WeBS Count, or know someone they could pass this on to?
Our team of counters there consists of one sprightly young 73 year old, the rest are all getting on a bit and have had major surgery or other and are all wanting to retire within the next 12 months. This potentially leaves us without a team of counters for one of the most important estuaries in the country for wintering waterbirds.
If you can help, please email the WeBS office at webs@bto.org or have a look at the website to see where all the sections are: Mersey WeBS Sites
