All I got in an hour this morning was 1 Meadow Pipit, 1 Pied Wagtail and numb fingers from the cold north wind! So I gave up...

Hi Rob,

Yeah im taking part tomo. Did the one last year too and its great fun.

Other dates are 25th & 26th September and 23rd & 24th October.

The September dates are normaly to get the Meadow pipit wave and the October one for thrushes.

Really can be amazing when you get a big movement of stuff.

Tried Sandyforth this morning from just after 06:00 til just after 10:00, weather wasn't great though, quite windy and heavy showers from 08:00. Might try again tomorrow, but I don't think the forecast is any better...

Will try to get out of bed early, Rob! Forecast might be OK, definitely good for Monday. Where are we doing it? Sandyforth OCCS? Winter Hill?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for posting the link. I'd not heard about this, but it sounds really interesting.

I've often thought about doing VisMig from Watergrove. Although I've done plenty of moorland watching during the day time, I've never tried a dawn watch which would almost certainly produce a lot more birds.

Will see if I can drag myself out of bed early enough on Sundaybiggrin.gif
