Foulney Island, Morecambe Bay

Visited today and glad to report that there seemed to be more Little terns this year. Also plenty of Arctic terns but the Warden was concerned about the high levels of gull predation. Most birds have nested on the right hand side beneath the grassy embankment so you cannot actually see many nests, but plenty of birds flying over and expressing their displeasure!

Also nesting this year:- Meadow pipits, Skylarks, Ringed plovers, Oyster catchers and Eiders.

Btw, I was at Hodbarrow a few weeks ago and Sandwich and Common terns are nesting there.
