Just noticed Colin's post from yesterday. The pics of the"caspian" gull are certainly not the bird that was photographed there previously, there are several discrepancies in the plumage.Unfortunately to me it looks nothing like a Caspian Gull,I've never seen one with such a large bill which isn't even the pale colour it should be,primaries are far too short, ,it looks exactly like an Herring Gull which imo it is.Pete
Mid afternoon 4th calendar year Caspian gull still (see photos) also juvenile yellow-legged gull. The Caspian gull is an impressive looking bird, look at the size of it compared to the lesser black-back in the first photo.
This late morning to early afternoon, with Phil Rhodes:

My first visit to this site (from A6 - Rosemary Lane car park entrance). I stumbled across this car park for Cutacre Country Park by accident earlier this week while driving west on the A6 just around the corner from Junction 4 on the M61. I am glad I came back for a a few hours visit - in that time I covered 12,000 steps - and still did not take in many of the the footpaths! Thoroughly enjoyed my visit - and will return again soon; and also look in more detail around the area just north of the railway line - around Engine Lane / Pool area.

My first visit since 2010 when I saw the Shorelark. What a transformation. Great pathways throughout the country park. I didn't get all the way round due to lack of time. There must be at least 3 miles of pathway I didn't get down to the pool near the railway but still saw some interesting birds.
