Afternoon walk:
Canal near Barton Locks:
Mute Swan 1sub adult plus 4 adults. 2 were blue-ringed DX4 and FX4.
Tufted Duck 1 pair.
Grey Heron 1
Swallow 8+
Mallard 20+
Cormorant 1
GtCGrebe 1 pair.
BH Gull 2 adults.
Reserve:
Kingfisher 1.
Song Thrush 3 singing.
Chiffchaff 4 singing.
Willow Warbler 2 singing.
Blackcap 3 singing.
Bullfinch 1 lone male.
GtSWoodpecker 1
Swift 1
etc.etc.etc.

Plenty Chiffchaffs singing - I can never seem to visually spot them!

Little Grebe = 1
Gadwall = 18
Moorhen = 2
Cormorant = 1
B H Gull = 5
LBB Gull = 2
Coot = 1
(also 5 Lesser Redpoll, 11 Bullfinch, Pheasant, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, usual Tits and others)
UU & EA carrying out work on the reserve with heavy machinery so will be high level of disturbance over next 6 weeks.
