Crossbills. Falling cones/bits of cones gave their presence away. Very high in the conifers I was unable to count how many but only a few.

Very bright orange newly emerged Chicken of the Woods fungi.

A couple of hours late morning, hardly a ripple on the reservoir when I started and sunny, but became overcast and breezy.

Highlight of the day was a Barn Owl hunting over fields near Greens Arms Road. Cracking views for over 20 minutes of bird hunting and occasionally landing on fence posts.
