Called by EHF this evening on the way home from Little Moreton Hall - of note 50 plus Black-tailed Godwit, 30 plus Curlew (on grass), 3 Redshank, 6 Little Ringed Plover and a single Ruff. Also big numbers of Lapwing and Gulls various.
P.S. Should have mentioned the 4 Shovellers on the part of the flash down the road towards the railway embankment.

Having found the Westport Lake Ring necked Duck quite quickly this morning decided to visit an old favourite of mine - Elton Hall flash near Sandbach - on the way home. In former years birders risked life and limb here as the only decent viewing point for the main flash was actually at the side of a fairly busy road - there is now an off-road area which is much safer. To the birds - nothing startling but a reasonable selection including Snipe, Buzzard, Dunlin, Kestrel, Redshank, Wigeon, Teal, Ruff, Shoveler, Green Sandpiper, Lapwing, Lesser Black backs and on the feeders a Great spotted Pecker.
