Hi Mike,
YLGs difficult birds at the best of times, probably not the best feature to use (as a single feature) as most of the large white headed Gulls can show an orbital ring of some red hue or another. Structure, head shape, general jizz, mantle, facial streaking etc would be a wiser option to build a better picture of what the bird is. smile
