Dave Steel has kindly copied a tape for me, made by Norman Rowbottom, who now lives on Anglesey, of Nightjars on Astley Moss (now the peat extraction site) in 1980, also with young, and Long-eared Owls wing-clapping and calling. Really evocative. If anyone out there has an up-to-date email for Norman (with whom I did the Nightjar survey in 1992) I'd be glad to have it, as I think the one I have is defunct.
