Connected is a good way of putting itsmile.gif I am a member if thats what you mean?

I am not emploring anybody to vote for the RSPB on this one - I would just like to point out that there are a few misconceptions about the RSPB out there that need disconstructing (is that a word?) - we should fully support successful conservation charities that have a proven track record.

I know this isn't the point, but £2000 would pay for the Hey Brook to be sluiced so that flash flooding would run off into the new Glover's Pool that the Forestry Commission dug in the Abram Flashes - a pool that both Tim Melling from the RSPB and Martyn Walker from the LWT said was an impossibility - Andy Glover had it done and dusted in no time.
If the Hey Brook flash flooding (originating in Hindley) could be controlled, Pennington Flash would not flood up like it does after heavy rain, nor would Lightshaw Hall Flash and Dover Basin, thus destroying the nests of many wildfowl and waders.
Not to mention the RSPB's new reserve in Greater Manchester at Dovestones, comingon stream soon....

Plus, the Kent estuary in Cumbria is nearer to my home than is Old Moor........

Cumbria Wildlife is fine if you like marine mammals - it's whatever takes your fancy !

Old Moor is nearer and specifically bird related
