RE: Lancashire Wildlife Trust Sites

I have emailed Martyn Walker for an explanation re the Abram Flashes which is several ownerships. I suspect it may be the Forestry Commission holding between the Dover Inn and the A58 bridge.

Just received an e-mail from LWT which might be of interest, as two of the sites mentioned are in GM:

Reserve Success
We are proud to announce that we have recently acquired 3 new sites, two as part of the success of our new Mosslands Living Landscape Project.
Freeman's Pools
Located in Lancaster, adjacent to the Lune, this is an important site for Breeding Waders, including the Little Ringed Plover.
Cadishead Moss and Abram Flash (SSSI)
These sites were aquired as part of our Mosslands Living Landscape Project and compliment the mosiac of sites accross the region. Our Mosslands project needs your help to stop our remaining Mosslands being destroyed, this vital habitat is crucial to many species including the Long Eared Owl and The Water Vole, and also act as a natural store for Carbon.

The acquisition of "Abram Flash" is news to me.............
