Female Sparrowhawk took off into trees between Lidl and Wharfdale Res. home as I walked past at 0730. Briefly alighted in a tree then flew off towards Tesco!
Seen Two Jackdaw this morning while I was working in front of the old fire Station in Leigh on Windermere Road, Looked liked they were picking up grit.
whilst waiting for the bus back home from leigh bus station I counted (well tried my best to) the pied wagtails as they were dropping from the roofs to the trees to roost & I managed approx 420 by 6.55pm.
Just seen this - amazing!! I was going to report 20 in Tesco's car park at 7.30 am today but that seems a bit less exciting now!!

Bridge Inspectors at our place have taken a photo of a used Dippers nest under a bridge on what I think is Pennington Brook they didn't see any birds in the area but this might be where the Dippers that were seen at Pennington Flash came from ?
1 Oystercatcher over West, Heading for Penny 3 Swallow, 2 flew straight through 1 flycatching over football pitch. Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and Blackcap heard. Plenty Goldfinch about and a few Starling feeding on football pitch at the side of Leigh Harriers. A Song Thrush was singing and no joke sounded like an American Police siren.

Plenty Pied wagtail around Leigh town centre this afternoon and few around Tesco.
About 0745 this morning, Scott, I counted 40 just in my line of sight on Tesco's car park. Hopefully when the squalls kicked off they were able to retreat under the trolley shelters!
Magic moment in LIDL car park 07.50 en route to work.
Kestrel jinking at fairly low level across the car park, settled on the advertising hoarding less than 15 yards from me, and was then chased off by a Jackdaw.
Seen a Sparrowhawk high over the area before, but never a Kestrel, and great to see it so close against the early morning sky. The poetry of LIDL!
